After a four-year break due to the COVID -19 pandemic, Isabela City Division Athletic Association Meet, the biggest inter-school sports event in the City re-opened to more than a thousand athletes, coaches, technical officials, and delegation heads from the four districts of Isabela City Division.
The program kicked off today January 24, 2024 with a parade starting from Alano Compound and ICEPS up to BNHS Grandstand composed by delegations from different schools within the City.
In the message of Isabela City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Jay S. Montealto, he warmly welcomed the delegates and in his message, he highlighted the importance in promoting the values of sports and the overall well-being of the athletes.
Montealto also took time to thank the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Isabela City headed by Honorable Mayor Sitti Djalia T. Hataman, Honorable Vice Mayor Julkifli Salliman, and other councilors present for their unwavering support to the DepEd Isabela City.
Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia T. Hataman meanwhile thanked individuals who showed support in the conduct of the division meet.
Division Sports Coordinator and EPS in Math Dr. Arnel A. Hajan and SGOD Chief Eduardo G. Gulang led the hoisting of the ICDAA banner followed by the division banner led by SDS Dr. Jay Montealto, ASDS Dr. Maria Laarni T. Villanueva, and the LGU banner led by Honorable Mayor Hataman and Vice Mayor Kifli Salliman-Hataman, together with the delegation banners hoisted by the district supervisors, principals, and school heads.
Meanwhile, six of the Palarong Pambansa qualifiers and the baseball team led by Exon Ace DR. Emam, Jaymie Suzainn Ramillano, Maria Erika Wong, Bassar Gullam, Maria Beatrice Anino, and Almuzni Tanhaji led the community run to light the Torch.
Meanwhile, SDS Jay S. Montealto formally led the formal opening of the ICDAA Meet ’24 as he emphasized a few words for the athletes: “Remember to play for yourselves, for your teammates, and for your Division and may we cherish every part of this event.”
The program concluded with a unity dance that expressing teamwork essential to the success of any sports team.
