ISABELA CITY, Basilan โ This year’s Isabela City Division Athletic Association (ICDAA) Meet was opened with a diverse showcase of unity among elementary and secondary athletes, coaches, and officials gathered for the event of the newly constructed city’s grandstand.
The parade started with colorful sports wear and a vibrant marching saludo of the participants, and the drum and lyre artistic rhythmic sound and graceful movement from the majorettes and flaglettes of the different schools.
Around 2,000 delegates from secondary to elementary public and private schools of Isabela City participated during the parade of ICDAA 2024 with its theme โShaping a Happy, Decent, and Dignified Future Through Sports.โ
Schools Division Superintendent Jay S. Montealto, EdD, JD, CESO VI, elaborated during his message the importance and spirit of sportsmanship. He also said that all athletes and coaches must accept whatever the result of the game.
Guests who attended the opening were Cong. Mujiv Hataman, City Major Dadah Hataman, and Hon. James Abner Rodriguez among others.
The purpose of this yearly athletic meet is to unlock the potential of the young Isabeleรฑos and embrace diversity and inclusivity through sports.
Winning athletes will undergo rigid training with their respective coaches and will represent Isabela City to the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletic Association (ZPRAA) this 2025 to be hosted by the Municipality of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
