For the very first time, the Isabela City Schools Division, through the help of the Local Government of Isabela City, hosted the Regional Science and Technology Fair (RSTF) from November 28-29, at the Isabela City Gymnasium.
The RSTF aimed to provide a platform for the learners to use their scientific knowledge and bring their best inventions. It also allowed students to work together in groups and learn from each other.
The eight (
divisions of the Zamboanga Peninsula travelled to the southern part of the region, to showcase their innovation and intelligence in the field Science and Technology, as they competed in the different individual and team categories โ Physical Science, Life Science, Mathematics and Computational Science, and Robotics and Intelligence Machine.

Present during the opening ceremony was City Mayor Hon. Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, also with her was Hon. Ahmen Ibn Djaliv โAminโ T. Hataman, Board Member of District I, Eugenio B. Penales, EdD, Regional Chief of CLMD, Hadja Sarah Handang, Regional Values Education Supervisor, and the DepEd-Isabela City Division Officials headed by OIC-Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Jay. Montealto, JD, CESO VI, ASDS Dr. Maria Laarni T. Villanueva, CID Chief Dr. Henry R. Tura, Education Program Supervisors, District Supervisors, and School Heads.
All entries were able to display their inventions, but only the Top 3 were given the chance to enunciate their work in front of the viewers. Their concepts and inventions did not only bring pride to their respective divisions, but it also carried a higher possibility to find answers in some of the present and unforeseen adversities in the future. Indeed, the beauty of science and technology is mind blowing and life changing.
The winners will carry the banner of Region 9 to the National Science and Technology Fair in Baguio City.
